Rams Head Dockside

There’s something about being near the water that instantly slows life down a little and as a homeschool mom, I truly appreciate places that let both me and my son relax, learn, and enjoy the moment together. One of our favorite spots to visit is Rams Head Dockside.

We love heading there during the week when we need a little change of scenery from our usual homeschool routine. Sometimes I’ll bring my laptop and work outside by the water while my son reads a book, listens to an Audible, or just enjoys the fresh air. It’s one of those places that feels peaceful but still full of life.

The food is always really good, and the atmosphere is one of my favorite parts. Watching people pull up on their boats gives the whole place a fun waterfront vibe that honestly makes you feel like you’re on a mini vacation without leaving Maryland. Some evenings they even have live music, which makes it even more relaxing for families.

One thing I especially love is that kids eat free on Wednesdays, which is always a plus for homeschool families trying to balance fun outings and budgeting wisely.

As a homeschool mom in the Glen Burnie area, I’m always looking for places where learning and everyday life can blend naturally together. Whether we’re talking about boats, journaling by the water, reading outdoors, or simply taking a slower day to reconnect, this has become one of our favorite little homeschool hub spots.

Sometimes the best homeschool moments don’t happen at a desk they happen over lunch by the water, with a good book, fresh air, and quality time together.

If you’re local and looking for a relaxed family-friendly spot with good food and a beautiful view, this one is definitely worth checking out.
